Bayshore Animal Clinic was founded by Dr. Bill Zingalie, in 1989, on Macdill Avenue in South Tampa. Dr. Zingalie created a vision to provide the highest quality veterinary care with genuine compassion. Dr. Stuart Rosenburg joined as an associate veterinarian in 2001, and took ownership of the practice in 2002. He designed and opened a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital on Gandy in 2012. In 2013, Rosenburg selected Dr. Jacob Drewes and Dr. Meegan Panzarella to take over ownership of Bayshore Animal Clinic. We are honored to continue Drs. Zingalie and Rosenburg’s vision to provide excellent, compassionate veterinary care to South Tampa families. We are proud to serve South Tampa’s finest.
Drs. Drewes and Panzarella met in Veterinary School on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Together, they earned the best small animal surgery team award. They transferred to University of Missouri Veterinary School to complete their studies. Post-graduation, “The Drewsarellas” applied together and were placed for a rotating small animal internship in Ohio. They thrived off the nonstop challenge and pace, which led to six rigorous years together at a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility in Atlanta where they learned from boarded specialists in all areas of veterinary medicine.
Next, they were recruited to a 24 hour emergency and referral center in California to help elevate the quality of medicine and care. While in California, Jacob became a private pilot and Meegan trained for and ran marathons. They also welcomed their sons, Noah and Luca. This new family dynamic did not blend well with emergency hours and they started a search for a practice of their own that they could personalize and invest into. Dr Drewes grew up in the Tampa area and loved the ocean. Once they discovered South Tampa, they knew they were home. Through friends, they met Dr. Stu Rosenberg, who sold them Bayshore Animal Clinic, and they are forever grateful. They love being part of such a unique, progressive community of families and their beloved four leggeds.
You can find Doctors Drewes and Panzarella serving on the board of the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation where they helped create Vets for Pets, a non-profit organization providing the highest standard of care for pets of those who are low income or homeless. Also, they are proud partners with Southeastern Guide Dogs and are the only veterinary practice within 90 miles of Bradenton, providing all routine cost and well-care procedures at no cost for program dogs and puppies. Their family welcomed two guide dogs, “AJ and Cotton”, who retired from the program for medical issues. Through their partnership with Southeastern Guide Dogs and Mastro Subaru, they also provide home care visits to BAC families. They share their home with “The Poodle” and “Oz”, their bearded dragon.
