Dr. Jo Walsh received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry before completing her Doctoral of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University. She graduated in 2012 and went on to complete a small animal surgical and medicine Internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa, Florida.
For 3 years, Dr. Walsh has enjoyed being a mixed animal veterinarian. While her focus is primarily on dogs and cats, she also practices on pigs, goats, sheep, pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc), reptiles, and birds. She has even worked on some more exotic creatures such as porcupines, emus and foxes. She has been heavily involved in raptor (birds of prey) and wildlife rehabilitation for the past 3 years as well. Her interests lie in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, swine medicine, and emergency and critical care of animals. She enjoys practicing on all species and has a special interest in pigs.
Dr. Walsh is a strong supporter of the Tampa Bay ASPCA, Hillsborough County Veterinary Medical Association, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and other charitable organizations. In 2015, Dr. Walsh was a featured local veterinarian for ASPCA fundraisers.
When not working, Dr. Walsh enjoys spending time with her husband, dog (Phoebe) and cat (Violet). She also enjoys going to concerts, college football, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Walsh is excited about joining the team at Bayshore Animal Clinic!
