Dr. Serena Bloom is a Florida native from the east coast who moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2015. She joined the Bayshore Animal Clinic team in May 2018. She is excited to meet new furry friends and their families.
Dr. Bloom is a two-time Gator Graduate, earning her undergraduate degrees and doctorate from the University of Florida. She finished her undergraduate career with a Summa Cum Laude degree in Art History, a Cum Laude degree in Zoology and a minor in International Studies. She pursued multiple interests including animal behavior, conservation, non-western body arts, 18th century European painting, alligator overwintering behavior and Italian high Renaissance painting, before eventually finding her passion in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Bloom is dedicated to treating every pet like family and providing the best possible care for her patients. Her special interests include preventative medicine, the human-animal bond, behavior, dentistry and hospice care; although she is always finding more.
In her spare time Dr. Bloom enjoys playtime with her own pets: Chewbacca, a Catahoula/American Bulldog mix, Yeti “The Abominable Snowman”, a furry white cat and Thumper “The Pirate Bunny,” a one-eyed, bob-tailed cat. Her hobbies also include cooking, art, reading, traveling and discovering new adventures and restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.
