Lea was born and raised in Massena, New York. As a child, she was rarely seen without a pet in her arms. After obtaining her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology at SUNY Canton in 1995, she has made a life-long career of helping both people and animals.
Lea joined Bayshore Animal Clinic as our practice manager in November 2015. She has been managing veterinary practices along the eastern coast line since 2000. Lea has been awarded practice manager of the year and received an award for excellence in training. Her passion is excellent client and patient care.
When Lea is working or meeting the growing demands of our practice, she is busy visiting schools, attending public events, and hosting meet and greets designed to educate the public about the truths of our nation’s only native marsupial, the Virginia Opossum. In 2014, Lea co-authored her first book titled, “Barley, An Opossum’s Own Story”. She shares her home with 5 non releasable domesticated opossums; Apple, Aspen, Keebler, Kricket and Ripley.
Lea also enjoys going to the beach, movies, travelling and spending time with friends.
